Leadership
Opportunities
It is our ultimate goal for students to not only to
have a healthy growing relationship with Jesus Christ,
but also to discover the ministry God has called them
to and learn to lead in that ministry. We have two
programs to help develop students in ministry and leadership.
The first is Student impact and the various ministry
opportunities we offer to students. The second is our
Student Pastor Program. Student Pastors are teenagers
who want to step up and grow in their ministry and
leadership abilities. They are willing to go deeper
in their commitment to Christ and to take on greater
ministry responsibilities.
Student Pastors meet the 2nd Tuesday night of every
month (except July) in the Main worship center with the
rest of Christ Church’s leadership. The evening
begins a little before 6:00 with a free dinner. From
6:00-7:00, the praise band leads in worship and Pastor
Charles gives us a leadership lesson. Then from 7:00-8:00,
the Student Pastor team meets to discuss the leadership
lesson, and to report on and make decisions about the
youth ministry at Christ Church.
Once a semester, the Student Pastor team hosts an overnight
event that is open to all students called the Leadership
Summit. On this overnight we spend time in team building
exercises, some Bible Study and we study a specific issue
of Leadership to help students in their ministry areas.
Student Pastors are expected to attend these Summits
and the number of openings are limited.
Our next Leadership Summit will be at Camp Valley Haven
on October 5th and 6th.
